Amsterdam

Amsterdam is the capital of the Netherlands, and is therefore a major tourist attraction. The cityscape in the center is made up of major retail chains, lots of restaurants, and of course the cheese and souvenir shops. You will find unique clothing, jewelry, and gift shops at 'De negen straatjes'. Be sure to visit one of the many museums, such as the Anne Frank House, the Maritime Museum, or the Rijksmuseum. If you go on a city tour, you will learn about the history of Amsterdam and its famous residents. Did you know that the Amsterdam Canal Belt has been a UNESCO world heritage site since 2010? This is due to the remarkable character of this section of the historic city center. The famous monumental canal houses characterize Amsterdam and tell an impressive story.

Amsterdam also has lots of quiet spots, like the green Amsterdamse Bos. You can also take a walk through the Vondelpark. From the IJ quay, you can spot passing luxury yachts, speed boats, and large inland vessels. If you board the ferry at the IJ, you will arrive in the nice Amsterdam North.
